Your assignment should include the following:
A revision of your Week Three Case Analysis Assignment. Your revision should represent a substantial edit of your work that fully incorporates feedback from your professor and goes well beyond correcting any grammatical or APA errors.

The strongest possible objection to your thesis. After the final paragraph of your Week Three Case Analysis Assignment, start a new paragraph that introduces the strongest possible objection to your thesis. The considerations for this are detailed in Section 9.2 of With Good Reason: A Guide to Critical Thinking (Hardy, Foster, & Z??iga y Postigo, 2015). Make sure to employ the appropriate language to introduce the objection, such as ?some may object to my thesis as follows? or ?according to [so and so] the thesis presented here fails to account for X? Introduction

 

Gender discrimination is the practices based on male and female where the rights of men,

 

women, boys and girls are denied. These rights are like the sexual rights or even unequal

 

payments at work. Gender discrimination issues have been affecting females most of the time.

 

There has been a controversy of gender discrimination of men being said to have been

 

discriminated against. There are the existing stereotypes that have promoted the gender

 

discrimination issues towards men and women. Economically, gender discrimination has been

 

affecting the decision making processes making the society patriarchal. Decision making has

 

been sidelining how activities are carried out especially at work places. Only men have been

 

taking the lead in leadership denying the women who would have greater ideas to contribute in

 

the development process. This on the other hand has led to the unequal distribution of resources

 

leading to poor economic outcome. Economy has been derailed due to the early marriages to

 

young girls who have been denied schooling. Away from the women empowerment, men have

 

been left out in the process of empowerment due to the stereotype that men are generally the

 

heads of the society. Some laws that protects gender discrimination are like the like the sex

 

discrimination act, the Equity Act 2010 and the federal laws[ CITATION Har14 \l 1033 ].

 

A thesis

 

There has been the continuation of gender discrimination despite the existence of the

 

laws where it has led to more de-motivation in place of work, in the society and in the world at

 

large where it has affected how people interact with one another in the economic and social

Ethical theory

 

Gender discrimination can best be explained through the utilitarianism theory. It has

 

been proven that discrimination goes far beyond the minority groups and touches other groups

 

like the males who are not termed weak in the society. The theory of utilitarianism focuses on the

 

outcome of gender discrimination where it uses the greatness happiness principal in determining

 

the moral of the same[ CITATION Har \l 1033 ].

 

In most cases, discrimination has been identified in the work place where it has been

 

taking place at every stage of employment; be it during hiring, screening, during promotions,

 

during division of labor and the compensation schemes.

 

Utilitarianism theory looks at discrimination as to require a manager in the premises

 

where it is practiced. Discrimination management will assist in controlling disruptions that come

 

about. This enables the performance maintenance when there is the introduction of compensation

 

through discrimination. Discrimination has led to loss of many developmental opportunities, loss

 

of skilled labor and has also led to poor health especially when nurturing small kids within the

 

existing stereotypes. The theory of utilitarianism has also handled economic and societal impacts

 

in the society. This has been achieved when there is discrimination in the society and those who

 

are discriminated against end up producing less for not being given opportunities to maximize

 

their skills.

 

In the long run, the ethical theory of utilitarianism has chipped in and assisted in the

 

reduction of cases of discrimination in the society where both men and women have been denied

 

chances to have some freedom and some denied rights.

There has been the violation of rights through discrimination. Such has led to the unequal

 

distribution of resources especially in the sharing of lands where boys have always been having a

 

share to inherit from their parents while girls are left out and do not get any share of inheritance

 

from their parent?s properties.

 

Gender discrimination has mostly been favoring men more that the women. In work

 

place, men have been considered to make the decisions and also to hold the highest positions in

 

the offices which have been a major form of discrimination[ CITATION Wil14 \l 1033 ].

 

Comparative analysis

 

The theory of utilitarianism has had its support on the fact that happiness is the best thing

 

as compared to sadness. Since this theory does not entertain egoism, it has been used to bring

 

equality in the society where men, women, boys and girls will always have equal chances in life.

 

It has been used to stop the bad cultural practices that have been practiced towards young girls.

 

Early marriages and female genital mutilation has been practiced to harm the women but

 

benefiting the men in the society. In the society, every one counts and hence it is in order to give

 

everyone a chance to his or her rights.

 

At workplace, there has been discrimination against the wages where women have been

 

receiving a lesser pay than their male counterparts even in attaining equal qualification in the

 

same position. This has led to women becoming less motivated to peruse higher education since

 

they feel that it will all be in vain for reason that even when they attain much, they will continue

 

receiving a lesser pay. More so, this income disparity has been stereotyped that since the males

 

are the sole provider in a house hold, women hence should earn less or else they will be seen to

 

change these stereotyped roles. Women have thus been placed in low status jobs which pays less

income and men has been left to man the well-paying and decent jobs[ CITATION Gen14 \l 1033.

 

The existing laws have tried to eliminate the sexual harassments that have been in the

 

workplace which have affected the performance of the employees. These laws have worked to

 

punish those who practice these bad habits and put in place tough fines and jail terms.

 

The laws too have tried to regulate the policies at the work place where the women will

 

be given the maternity leave and get an allowance within the same period. In additional, the law

 

still works to give males paternity leave when their wives deliver and also get compensated

 

within the time they will be on leave.

 

The virtue ethics seeks to look at the internal motivation to be the outstanding

 

consequences of gender discrimination. It doesn?t look at neither the rules nor the consequences

 

of the instances of gender discrimination. This has left the theory of utilitarianism to stand out as

 

compared to the theory of virtue ethics since it seeks to look at handling the discriminating issues

 

and at least offer some solutions to the same.
